1. SK Hynix plans 40 trillion won share buyback
SK Hynix plans to repurchase and cancel 40 trillion won, or about $28.6 billion, of shares. The company supplies high-bandwidth memory chips to Nvidia. South Korea's KOSPI posted its largest one-day closing gain on record after the announcement.

A GnosisDAO proposal to transition Gnosis Chain into an Ethereum ZK rollup instance received 99.78% support. Under the proposal, about 350,000 staked GNO will unlock after the transition, alongside changes to the network architecture and staking status.

7. OpenAI pauses reinforcement-learning training
OpenAI said it will pause reinforcement-learning training for its latest deployed model for two weeks and add sandbox isolation. Its research cluster had previously halted frontier-model inference tasks, and the new measures cover training isolation and model execution workflows.
8. Aug. 18 trading-day BTC and ETH ETF flows turn positive
U.S. spot BTC ETFs took in $189 million for the Aug. 18 trading day, led by $144 million for BlackRock's IBIT and $23.92 million for Fidelity's FBTC. August net inflows approached $1 billion. Spot ETH ETFs added $71.47 million the same day, including $64.68 million for BlackRock's ETHA.
